Ahkom Charity is a UK registered Charity based in Oxford, UK. Our main activity is to support Ahkom School in the Kono district of Sierra Leone, providing an opportunity for education and training for those most in need.
The combined effects of an eleven year rebel war (1991 - 2002) and the outbreak of the Ebola disease in Sierra Leone, has not only devastated communities, but created numerous orphans whose education and training requirements are still not fully met – neither by government nor the voluntary sector. Our mission is to offer to children of Sierra Leone the opportunity to have a better future through quality and practical education. The school is made up of a Nursery/Primary for children aged from 3 to 12 years old, a Secondary school for students between 12 and 18 years old, and a technical-vocational centre.
Our school in Koidu Town. A one-time-experience for our students and something very special for us also.
We offer to children of Sierra Leone the opportunity to have a better future through quality and practical education.
There are many ways to help. We are always looking for donors and sponsors and are very happy if you want to join us in our mission.
